RRB NTPC recruits for non-technical popular categories in Indian Railways — from Junior Clerk and Accounts Clerk to Station Master and Goods Guard. Selection runs through a first-stage CBT (common, screening), a second-stage CBT (level-wise, merit-deciding), followed by skill tests (typing/aptitude) where applicable and document verification.

What is the RRB NTPC exam pattern?+

CBT 1 has 100 questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes (General Awareness 40, Mathematics 30, Reasoning 30). CBT 2 has 120 questions for 120 marks in 90 minutes (General Awareness 50, Mathematics 35, Reasoning 35). Mahila/PwBD and other eligible candidates get extra time.

Is there negative marking in RRB NTPC?+

Yes. One-third (1/3) of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer in both CBT 1 and CBT 2.

Is RRB NTPC CBT 1 qualifying?+

CBT 1 is used to screen and shortlist candidates for CBT 2; the merit list is prepared from CBT 2 (and any applicable skill test).
